Alien RPG

Welcome to Alien RPG and Halifax | Episode 39 | The Itsy Bitsy Spider. This is the second to last episode before we wrap up the story of Halifax. There are a lot of loose ends so we explore many of those as we begin to tie them all up. Many revelations are revealed and the crew makes several tough decisions in Itsy Bitsy Spider.

THE ITSY BITSY SPIDER

The Itsy Bitsy Spider has been a running theme in Halifax for most of the campaign. The children’s fairytale is used to reference several key plot points. If you’ve made it this far into Halifax: Precious Cargo betwixt Dragons and Ghosts, you know Deven, Imogen, xenomorphs, and Project Imogen are the most important references. The song has been used to chill the crew and comfort Imogen.

When Deven acted as the caretaker for Imogen on Aeon Station while Imogen’s father worked, Deven would sing Itsy Bitsy Spider to Imogen to comfort her. Imogen has been known to carry a stuffed spider with her. Her fascination for spiders problem stems from deep within, if you know what I mean.

REVELATIONS

We are near the end of Halifax’s story. There have been several plots running alongside the main storyline since the beginning. Some plot points have not been figured out by the crew or closed. These plot points cannot be left hanging before finishing up the campaign.

WHAT DOES MU/TH/UR THINK?

There is a lot that happens in this episode. When I say a lot, I do mean a lot. This episode has to be the most explosive episode we have made. With only one episode remaining, I don’t expect an episode to be as intense as this one.

Halifax: Precious Cargo betwixt Dragons and Ghosts is a complicated story, and unique to the Alien franchise. Alien RPG has always been used as the framework for our story, but I have created a lot of original content to fit the storyline. With that said, I don’t want to leave with loose ends. I used this episode to close them all up.

There is only one thing left to do and that will become apparent in the final episode.

ABOUT HALIFAX: PRECIOUS CARGO BETWIXT DRAGONS AND GHOSTS

This is the story of Halifax, an M-Class Commercial Starfreighter under the ownership of Weyland-Yutani, a large multinational conglomerate. The Wey-Yu employed crew aboard Halifax takes on cargo delivery jobs that dispatch them across the Stars of the Middle Heavens. However, space is a dangerous place, and the unimaginable is bound to happen.

The story of Halifax is set within the Alien universe. We are a team of five and we work together to tell the story. Our adventure begins in the year 2179, the same year that Ellen Ripley is recovered from the Nostromo, survives LV-426, and then is lost on Florina 161.

Alien RPG is a tabletop role-playing game that serves as the framework that guides us through our journey. Halifax: Precious Cargo betwixt Dragons and Ghosts is based on a homebrew campaign written by Joseph Stader. Every episode features actual play with minimal editing.

Expect story elements regarding space horror, sci-fi action, survival, and a sense of wonder. Gameplay consists of chance mixed with strategic planning. Every choice has a consequence. The right choice leads to another day where the wrong choice leads to panic, injury, or death.
